Sweet news. Sales Imaging | iRadioSales won the “Best Radio Website in America” for www.topekaradioadvertising.com. A special thanks to the RAB’s Radio Sales Today and Mel Taylor Media for the nomination, Spike Santee and Mark Sullivan at Cumulus for their partnership and support, and the biggest thanks to all of you that took the time to vote.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BEST RADIO WEBSITE IN AMERICA REACHES OUT TO ADVERTISERS, NOT LISTENERS

November 12, 2008 – A radio website that reaches out to advertisers (instead of listeners) beat out over 100 nominees to win the “Best Radio Website in America” contest, conducted by the Radio Advertising Bureau’s Radio Sales Today. The winner, chosen by RST readers, is TopekaRadioAdvertising.com and it’s creator, Gregg Murray of Sales Imaging’s iRadioSales.

Five Finalists were chosen in October, and iRadioSales’ winning site was selected November 7, 2008. The criteria for the “Best Radio Website in America” were content, design, and ease of use.

Nominating Judge, Mel Taylor said, “Most radio websites do not focus on how to drive revenue. When I saw that iRadioSales had produced a website that took the strength of local radio and drove advertisers, it really jumped out at me. Gregg Murray and iRadioSales realizes that not every radio website has to focus on Brittney Spears or the morning show. But, can be focused on radio’s other customer, the advertiser.”

iRadioSales is led by a former radio sales manager turned internet marketing specialist, Gregg Murray. iRadioSales, and it’s parent company, Sales Imaging has created (and manages) radio sales-focused websites in 50 U.S. markets.

iRadioSales President, Gregg Murray says, “Our industry is discovering that a modern radio sales department requires a professional online presence that is designed to educate and influence advertisers. It’s an essential component of any radio sales organization hoping to compete in today’s economy. The internet is where business now goes to learn about radio and advertising. We put our clients in front of these browsing prospects.”

Words are at the heart of almost every form of marketing, including radio sales. Whether they’re in a written presentation or spoken in a meeting, words stimulate ideas, emotions, and even our senses. Choose your words carefully, and sales will follow. Make the wrong choices, and customers will tune you out.

A work spouse is a co-worker of the opposite sex with whom you have a close platonic relationship. Are there a few of those around your station? Do you have one? Radio stations bring plenty of opportunities to find yourself with a work spouse. In many ways, these relationships can mirror a real marriage. According to a 2007 survey from Vault.com, a career information Web site, 23 percent of workers reported that they had a work spouse. Do you have a work spouse? Here are seven clear signs you might have a work spouse:

  1. You depend on a particular co-worker for office supplies, snacks and aspirin.
  2. There are inside jokes that you and a specific co-worker share.
  3. You can be bluntly honest with this person about his or her appearance, hygiene or hair (and vice versa). You’re comfortable enough to point out that the other’s hair is sticking up — or that someone’s fly is down.
  4. When something eventful happens at work, this co-worker is the first person you seek out for a de-briefing.
  5. At breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks, your closest co-worker knows what to order for you and how you like your coffee (and vice versa).
  6. You and your co-worker can finish each other’s sentences.
  7. Someone in your office knows almost as much about your personal life as your best friend or real-life spouse does.
